Visit us at the Financial Empowerment Center and use our free services to gain more control and knowledge over your finances in a welcoming and private environment.
The Financial Empowerment Center, located in the South County Government Center, provides free programs and learning opportunities open to anyone interested in improving their finances. Clients will come in and fill out an interest intake form. Once the form is filled out, they will either immediately meet one-on-one with a trained financial coach or they will set up an appointment to meet at a later date or sign up for another FEC service.
To take full advantage of the FEC services it is recommended that clients sit with a financial coach at least once. During their first meeting with a coach, they will have their credit report run and take a financial habits survey. Over a 45-60 minute coaching session, the coach and client will create an action plan which may include other FEC partner services, like a workshop on loans or tax preparation. Clients can then take suggested classes and continue meeting with coaches as needed. The FEC’s goal is to provide services to empower members of the community and create better financial futures. Income and residency are not criteria to receive services.
